At the Gas Pump

As gas prices climb steadily north of $4 a gallon, there's not a lot one can do to ease the pain of filling up...or is there? Everyone deserves to shake their head while shelling out hard earned cash for a substance we all know is not mother natures absolute favorite. But after you've had a solid moment of self-pity, suck it up and find the bright side.

If you're gonna fill up (and if you're in LA, you are) why not do it in style?
Take a cue for my lovely friend Jacq and slip into something adorable to pump your gas. Cheek grazing dark denim, keds, ray bans, and a little vintage gingham makes pumping gas less painful, and maybe even a little bit fun.

I love the William Eggleston's use of color in this 1950's gas station photograph. Eggleston was on the forefront of printing techniques for color photography. It's lovely to think that this image was crafted with the swish swish of developer rather than the click click of a mouse. Did you catch his show at LACMA? I sure did!
